Scheduling an Appointment

How do I go about scheduling an appointment? To schedule an appointment at Family Pet, dial 773.935.2311 and select option 3 in our voicemail menu. Your call will ring through to the Appointment Desk, where our reception staff makes every effort to answer your call immediately. If you have an emergency, or need an appointment for the same day, press 0 to be connected to the operator immediately. Appointments may also be scheduled in person at our front desk during our open hours.

Do you accept patients on a walk-in basis? Other than for emergencies, our hospital is not set up to accommodate walk-in appointments. If your pet is in an emergency situation and you do not have time to call, please come right over during our open hours.

How long will it take to get in to see a veterinarian? We have emergency appointment slots built into our daily schedule so that if your pet needs immediate attention, we can see you that day without disrupting our regularly scheduled appointments. For this reason, it may take 1-2 weeks to schedule routine visits such as annual examinations. Our receptionists will make every effort to accommodate your appointment requests. However, if your schedule is such that you require an evening or Saturday appointment, or if you need to see a particular doctor, please call as far in advance as possible so that you can be sure to get the date and time you desire.

What if my pet needs to be seen, but I can’t come in during any of your available appointment times? If your schedule is full, yet you need our services, we offer you the option to drop off your pet for the work day. Please realize that a day ward care fee will be applied to your bill. This charge covers the use of the cage and supplies, such as food, water bowls, litter pans, and towels, as well as the staff time needed to care for your pet and keep your pet comfortable for the day.

What if I’m a new client and want to schedule my first appointment at Family Pet? Customer service and excellent patient care are extremely important to us, therefore we take a limited number of new clients each week, keeping our doctors available for our existing patients and clientele. New client appointments may be scheduled for any available time slot on Monday through Friday. Please stop by the hospital or call our appointment desk and our reception staff will be happy to assist you.
