Dr. Dana Buoscio, a board certified veterinary cardiologist, is available to examine your pet upon special appointment. She travels to our hospital with her color flow Doppler ultrasound machine, the key to diagnosing and characterizing so many cardiac disorders. Because Dr. Buoscio travels the city and suburbs each day, she asks that her patients be admitted for the day so they are immediately available for examination when she arrives.

Dr. Sig Paul Hansen, whose initial training was in human chiropractic medicine, sees patients at our hospital on Thursdays. After obtaining a referral from your regular veterinarian, patients are scheduled directly through Dr. Hansen, not through our appointment desk.

Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services

In Chicago, we are lucky to be served by many veterinary specialists. Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services (CVESC), located just 2 miles from Family Pet Animal Hospital, features a growing team of specialists in internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, neurology, radiology, and dentistry, with expanded disciplines forthcoming; the facility also houses specialists in ophthalmology and dermatology. In addition, the Chicagoland area is home to specialists in oncology; behavioral medicine; complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine; and even physical rehabilitation services for pets. Our doctors discuss cases with these colleagues and refer to them frequently. We want your pet to have the best care available. Feel free to ask us if your pet might benefit from visiting a veterinary specialist.
